Union Dispatch Process
Find Work. Understand the Process. Stay Ready.
DC17 helps connect qualified members with job opportunities through a fair and organized dispatch process. Whether you are looking for your next call or learning how the hiring hall works, this page will give you all the basics you need to know.

How Dispatch Works
DC17 dispatch connects contractors with available, qualified members when work is needed. When employers request workers, referrals are made according to the applicable process, qualifications, and availability. This system helps keep opportunities organized, fair, and accessible while supporting a strong union workforce across our jurisdiction.

1. Employer Requests Workers
Contractors contact DC17 when they need qualified members for available jobs.

2. Members on the List Are Considered
Eligible members on the out-of-work list are referred based on the dispatch process and job requirements.

3. Members Are Dispatched to Work
Once referred, members are contacted and sent to available opportunities that match their trade, qualifications, and readiness.
PLEASE NOTE: Dispatch procedures may vary by trade, employer needs, and agreement conditions.
